2004 silverado daytime running lights fuse full
Bulbs are good and the fuses are good. Do you have the same problem? Please let us know what happens. Was this answer helpful? I have checked all fuses both in the inside and inderhood boxes. The headlights come on both day and night as well as the dash lights stay on and work with the dimmer.
I have tried it with the truck parked and the parking brake off as well as driving down the road. What can I do to isolate the problem. If no then BCM is suspect it grounds relay when engine is on. At night, the DRL's won't come on. The optical sensor on top of your dash will instruct the BCM to illuminate the Headlamps only. If the DRL bulbs both burn out, and it is daylight, you won't have running lights while in gear.
How do I turn off Daytime running lights on a 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 truck?
If you have already confirmed the bulbs status, disregard. My headlights are staying on and the non-burnt out daytime running light are not coming on. The dash lights staying on indicates to me that the system is never switching to DRL mode. I can turn on and off the headlights from the switch, HELP!
This will switch your lights off. Repeat this to return to headlights. Read your owners manual for more info. On 99 silverados, this will not work.
Also, look on the dash, middle defrostor vent, for a black dome. Make sure a dash mat is not covering that. If covered, the sensor will think it's dark outside. I have changed plug, bulbs and fuse. The daytime running lights do not work. Do you. Check relay under hood as well as fuse if you didn't already check that.

The Daytime Running Lights will not come on during the day. Under hood relay box find DRL relay swap with fog lamp if it works then replace. Silly question, but did you make sure the DRL bulbs are not burnt out? Ok if the bulbs were burnt out which thy arent and the system was working wouldn't the headlights NOT come on?
My dtrl will not come on but my headlights will There on all the time instend of the day time running light. There is a fuse for the drl lights but if the headlights are on the drl won't be if the sensor on the top of the dash is covered up then the lights will stay on. My daytime running lights will not work. Probably the DRL daytime running light relay Could be one of 2, new or old style, new style is in the underhood fuse block near the radiator as seen below: Old style is in the convenience center on the left side of the firewall.Do you.
Hello, There are several fuses that run the lighting system we must check first. If all fuses are okay it sounds like the BCM has gone out here is how you replace it. Check out the diagrams below. Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is. Images Click to enlarge. Was this answer. Passenger side low beam went out. I replaced driver and passenger side low beam lights.
Passenger side still will not come on. Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros. The first thing I recommend checking is the fuse. On these vehicles, high beam, low beam, left, and right, have their own fuses. Since it is the passenger side, that is considered the right?
I attached a picture of the fuse box under hood of your vehicle. I need you to check fuse number That is for the passenger side low beam. Look at the picture, locate number 16 and then locate it in the truck.
Once you locate it, then you can check it. Pictures 2, 3, and 4 are the legend for what each fuse does.Forum Rules. Home Forums Reviews Articles Store. Homepage Today's Posts Search Register. We put a tester on them and we are not getting power to them. I can not seem to find a fuse for them, only the head lights and daytime running lamps. Does anyone know which one it is? I'm not a electrician by any means but I figured even a dummy like myself could figure this out.
Well, not so far! Thanks, DT Last edited by DT86; at PM. Reply With Quote. My Silverado has two fuse panels, one on left side of dash accessable with door open and one under the hood, over left fender.
Both have an index telling what the fuses are for. None of the running lights work, under the head lights, on the cab, in the dually fenders or the rear. They are marked but I can not seem to find one fuse for the stupid running lights. Maybe I need a Haynes manual. You just need a cold beer and daddy bill needs a new ride. Work Smarter Not Harder. Since none of the lights are working I'm wondering if something damaged the relay. The micro fuses can be a bugger to pull out even with the fuse puller, especially if they're right next to something that makes it difficult to squeeze down on the puller.
If the relay is bad you should be able to pick one up at an auto parts store, if not and all the fuses are good then we'll need to break out the multi-meter. I think they are fused with the parking lights. Power for the head lights and parking lights go through the dash switch.
Check there for power. My 04 had a similar problem of lighting the brake lights when using the left turn directional.

You can't without doing some on-board programming or removing some components. These are sensor monitored from the top of the dash to the BCM of the truck as are all the lights. When the truck's sensor detect a light factor that is greater than a predetermined point and there is no headlights on request the BCM enables a relay to turn the DRL on.
The simplest way to disable this safety feature would be to remove the bulbs, however this might set off the internal diagnostics of the BCM. Or you could remove the relay from its place in the under hood fuse panel, but I think that this particular relay has several functions. The dealer's scanner has the capability of programming the BCM to disable that feature, but I can't understand why you would want to do this. You can't even see the lights when they are on, but that's my opinion.
Good luck. Depends on the year of the truck. You can either pull the fuse marked "DRL" or you can simply remove the light bulbs from the sockets. Look in the owner's manual for a diagram of the fuse panel. If you take out the fuse you will disable all the functions that fuse controls such as automatic lights, etc. If you just remove the bulbs all the other stuff still works. I removed the bulbs from my '04 Chevy. I don't like DRL's myself. I am smart enough to know when I need lights and when i don't!
On my 02 there is a small panel on the left of the steering wheel. Then a switch to turn off your lights during the day. I think it's a 4 position switch. Good Luck.
